Sagpulon Falls

Sagpulon Falls is another impressively beautiful tourist spot that you should not miss aside from Agutayan Reef and White Island which is particularly located in Brg. San Isidro, Jasaan , Misamis Oriental. Sagpulon Falls is a natural waterfall with a towering elevation of approximately 150 feet cascading on a long vertical drop on a mossy wall embraced by the sprouting waters. Before Typhoon "Pablo" came, the area is already developed and struck the area that caused several damages of the facilities. They turn it into a small resort provided with different facilities like cottages for rent, picnic tables at the minimum price and created a big basin or man - made mini pools for the tourist who would like to go for swimming.

The water fall is very unique and definitely attractive. It has a natural beauty having the widest wall covered with moss that filters falling water. It is surrounded by the trees and beautiful rock formation. The best thing about a visit in Sagpulon Fall is that is not a crowded as the other water falls in the country.

If you want to go there, reaching the municipality of Jasaan, Mis. Or. from Cagayan de Oro City is about 30 minutes by a private vehicle. On other hand, a public transportation such as an Air - Conditional / Non Air - conditioned utility bus will transport you for about 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic condition and numbers of stop overs. That's about 31 kilometers east from Cagayan de Cro City. Upon reaching the municipality, make sure you ask the driver or the cabin assistance or as we call it "konduktor" to drop you aff at Spring View Resort, the nearest landmark going to Sagpulon Falls. From there, feel free to hire a motorcycle known for the locals as "habal - habal" to take you to the waterfall.

And now Sagpulon falls is  slowly gaining popularity as major destination in the province.

Kampo Juan, Bukidnon's Newest Nature Adventure Destination

As we focused to the City of Golden Friendship let's go to its neighbor province, Bukidnon. Bukidnon is known for its naturally wonderful views. Forest, mountains and other tourist attractions are found here. One of it is Kampo Juan- a kind of eco adventure which is located at Dicklum, Manolo Fortich Bukidnon.

The owner of its eco park is a scientist and an agriculturist namely Dr. Juan Acosta. The place is not only for adventure thrilling seekers but also it was built to appreciate its natural beauty. There are lots of extreme activities to do in Kampo Juan such as anacycling, rappeling, hanging bridge, and zipline. If you have a fear of heights, you can just roam around the camp for just 50 pesos. Kampo Juan has two swimming pools for adults and for kids. One of my favorite spot in the place is their heritage house.

As what the tour guide have shared to us, the
heritage house came from Pampanga. Piece by piece of the house' parts were assembled to Kampo Juan. If you want to know about a touch of history and antiques, heritage house is perfect for you. For only 30 pesos, you can go and tour with a guide and learn more about their artifacts and antique decorations.
Don't visit Kampo Juan if you have fear of height. If you hate trekking the whole camp, do not expect too much fom the place because they don't have cafe and restaurants but they can still serve foods through booking basis
If you have a bravest adrenaline life who crave different thrilling and unique adventure experiences, I'm sure you would love and enjoy visiting Kampo Juan.

The Newest Favorite Spot in Iligan City- Paseo de Santiago

The new spot in Iligan City; Paseo de Santiago is a privately owned property, opened its doors several months ago but has already attracted lots of Iliganons and tourists. It is located near the Fishchiboy Market (Talipapa) in barangay Santiago, Paseo de Santiago. Thus, according to the internet, Paseo de santiago has a very affordable entrance fee of P10 pesos per head.
So what makes Paseo de Santiago popular? Well according to some articles in the internet, Paseo de Santiago has a very strategic location. It is a sea-front area with an open seating concept which offers an amazing view of the sunset in Iligan Bay. The place is very accessible and offers a spacious parking space. Aside from its strategic location, Paseo de Santiago has a great ambiance .

Coming to this place is lovely for it creates a "me-time" feel with its comfortable hangout setting. Once you get there, you can be in your own world while enjoying the cool air, bonding with love ones, talking to friends, or setting a romantic mood while watching the sunset.

Their food and drinks are also a factor why Paseo de Santiago is popular to the tourist. Their food and drinks are served in the area, but guests are allowed to bring their own food and drink.

Furthermore, those said attributes above makes a place popular but in Paseo de Santiago, one can add the iconic "ILIGAN CITY '" sign in the criteria. The iconic "ILIGAN CITY" sign, I suppose, is the main come-on of Paseo de Santiago. The sign is strategically placed so that the back draft will be the Iligan Bay and its beautiful sunset. The letters are more than a meter high and can be visible in a distance. Each letter is painted with white and the characters are brightly illuminated at night.

Just like the HOLLYWOOD sign in Los Angeles, California, the iconic "ILIGAN CITY" sign in Paseo de Santiago is fast becoming a symbol of interest to tourists and visitors of Iligan. Many want to view it or even visit it upclose for picture taking and selfies, thus, Paseo de Santiago is now considered as the selfie capital of Iligan City.

The City of Mercy - Divine Mercy Shrine of El Salvador

In the small city in the province of Misamis Oriental can be found the tallest statue of Jesus Christ, not just in the catholic country of Philippines but widely in the whole world. The gigantic statue is visible from highway peeping from the lush of green vegetation surrounding the hill. Macajalar Bay can be seen also from the mountainous part of the place which is the southern island of Mindanao. Divine Mercy Shrine is open regularly without any fee for upon entering, but they are willing to receive donations from their visitors.

This sacred place requires every woman to wear below-the-knee skirts as an expression of respect. Also, staffs are strictly keeping the whole place clean and solemn, shouting and making noise is prohibited. Heading from the lower ground is the 200 step stair that serves as the only way to get closer to the giant statue of the holy Christ. The vigin Mary's figurines are also present in the midst of the green plantation. Furthermore, what excites the most to the tourists is the wishing well. Anyone can drop coins on the well and be able to make thier wishes. Each and every part of Divine Mercy has scenic and extraodrinary views that will surely capture the heart of the people.

Trekking a long way to the main statue and miraculous chapel is definitely a tiring thing to do. It will take anyone a several minutes before reaching the particular spot but all the struggles and effort will be all worth it upon experiencing the holiness of the land. However, the marvelous shrine is easy to find as a big signage is placed in the crossing or "eskina" of the town. How to get there? Just ride on a motorcycle or "habal-habal" and tell to the driver where is your destination, fare is only 20 pesos for each passenger. Time travel is 10-15 minutes only so it is convenient for everyone.
